Fife Sports and Leisure Trust

Awards and Recognition

Since the Company began trading in 2008 it has been the recipient of several national awards recognising the commitment to continuous improvement, development of programmes and activities and the development of our people. The awards bear testament to the commitment FSLT places upon the quality of service we offer to our users and this is borne out by the increasing levels of participation in sport and recreation as part of a physically active lifestyle.

Sporta Award

Our physical activity programme aimed at those living with long-term health conditions has received national recognition for its impact on local communities and partnership working.

We are delighted that our Active Options 2 programme received recognition in the category of “Successful work with the Health Sector” awarded by Sporta UK – the national association of leisure and cultural trusts.

Fife Sports and Leisure Trust was one of only two Scottish trusts to be recognised at the awards held in the Bournemouth Pavilion in May 2016.

European Foundation for Quality Management

Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, has been recognised for its dedication to business improvements through a Europe-wide recognition scheme developed by the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM).

The Trust recently secured EFQM’s Committed to Excellence award which required the organisation to provide evidence of improvement actions across the business which were independently validated by Quality Scotland, EFQM’s partner organisation who manage a programme of recognition schemes developed by the EFQM.

Healthy Working Lives

Healthy Working Lives is backed by the Scottish Government and is designed to improve the health, safety and wellbeing at work for all employees, but also looks to improve the wider economy and community as a whole.

Fife Sports and Leisure Trust has achieved the Healthy Working Lives Bronze Award for all 14 of its facilities across Fife, as well as its head office in Dunfermline.

Accord for the Protection of Children in Scottish Sport

By becoming a recognised signatory to this award the Company has demonstrated that it has robust practices and procedures in place to safeguard children participating in sport by protecting them from harm, abuse and exploitation. The Company carries out regular training for all levels of staff on Child Protection.

Visit Scotland

Visit Scotland, Scotland’s National Tourism Organisation, offers a 5 star level of grading system to indicate the standard of customer care and the range of facilities at establishments assessed by the body.

Fife Sports and Leisure Trust has been an active participant in the assessment process for a number of years and uses the grading as an indicator of the standard of welcome, hospitality and service our customers can expect. The award also looks at the standard of presentation of areas such as toilets.

In our most recent inspections the Michael Woods Sports and Leisure Centre in Glenrothes, Carnegie Leisure Centre in Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy Leisure Centre and the Lumphinnans Sports Hub were all awarded the coveted four-star award.  Levenmouth Swimming Pool and Sports Centre was awarded three-stars.

ISPAL Health and Physical Activity Recognition Programme

This award is supported by the Scottish Government and is obtained through an external assessment of the Company’s contribution to improving health within their community, employees and other stakeholders through physical activity interventions. The award acknowledges the work done by FSLT in contributing to the health and well being of the people of Fife and to establishing itself as a key vehicle for encouraging people to participate in an active, healthy lifestyle.
