Whether you are living with or beyond cancer, physical activity can help you make a positive change to your life. Being a bit more active has many benefits:
- Reduce tiredness and some treatment side effects
- Reduce anxiety and depression
- Improve your mood and quality of life
- Strengthen your muscles, joints and bones
- Look after your heart and reduce the risk of other health problems
Movemore Fife is a free physical activity programme for people during and after cancer treatment. You can take part in the following activities:
The Movemore group exercise sessions are suitable for participants at any stage of their treatment. Sessions are delivered by cancer rehabilitation instructors who will give you a programme that meets your individual needs and ability. If you’d like, you can also bring someone with you to every session.
Carnegie Leisure Centre, Dunfermline Tuesdays 1.00pm - 2.00pm & 7.30pm - 8.30pm
Kirkcaldy Leisure Centre, Tuesdays 2.15pm - 3.15pm
Levenmouth Swimming Pool and Sports Centre, Leven Wednesdays 10.00am - 11.00am
Michael Woods Sports and Leisure Centre, Glenrothes Thursday 5.00pm - 6.00pm
The Movemore walks are short, local, sociable walks that will provide a supportive and friendly environment for you to be more active. The walks will last around 30 minutes and are led by trained volunteer walk leaders. You are encouraged to walk at your own pace and can stop as often as you need to. You can also bring someone with you to join the walk.

Gentle Movement is a specially-adapted form of activity designed by Macmillan. This activity will help you to get more in tune with your body through the use of movement, breathing and relaxation improving your wellbeing both physically and mentally.
