Transforming Carnegie Leisure Centre
An exciting major refurbishment project is underway at Carnegie Leisure Centre in Dunfermline.
The centre originally opened in 1905 courtesy of Andrew Carnegie, locally-born industrialist, businessman and philanthropist. It has been expanded and modernised over the years to meet the demands of the growing community.
This latest refurbishment will deliver a modern, state of the art leisure centre that lies behind a unique Edwardian façade.
Whilst all of this work goes on, Carnegie Leisure Centre will be closed. Alternative arrangements have been put in place so that many of the activities are still offered in the local area.
The new centre which is funded by Fife Council and sportscotland; is due to
open November 2011.
