Yoga is a practice that connects the body, breath, and mind through physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation, aiming to improve overall health, reduce stress, and promote well-being.

We offer several different alternatives including: Hatha Yoga, Chair Yoga, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and Vinyasa Yoga. You’ll find Yoga classes at the following venues.

Pilates

Pilates

Pilates is a holistic approach to fitness that provides a low-intensity yet effective workout for core strength, mobility, and flexibility.

Postural alignment is a key element in this session, these classes are suitable for people of various fitness levels and ages.

Like Yoga we have several variations of Pilates available including: Fitness Pilates, Pilates for a Healthy Spine, Power Pilates, Les Mills Pilates and PiYo which is a mixture of Pilates and Yoga.

Qi Gong

Qi Gong

Qi Gong is an ancient Chinese practice combining movement, breathwork, and meditation to balance the body’s vital energy, or Qi.

It promotes physical health, mental clarity, and emotional well-being. Suitable for all ages, it enhances flexibility, reduces stress, and boosts vitality.

You’ll find Qi Gong at Carnegie Leisure Centre’s new dedicated Mind and Body Studio.

Les Mills BodyBALANCE

Les Mills BodyBALANCE

Les Mills BodyBALANCE is a holistic and well-rounded workout that offers physical and mental benefits. It combines elements of Yoga, Pilates, and Tai Chi to improve flexibility, balance, strength, and relaxation.

Like all Les Mils classes including our new Les Mills Pilates session, keep an eye our for our Quarterly new music and choreography releases.

Looking for a fun and challenging way for your child to get active? Our HYROX Youngstars classes are designed 12 to 15 year olds, giving them the chance to experience the exciting world of fitness.

Each class is carefully tailored, ensuring workouts are safe, age-appropriate, and packed with variety. Whether your teen is new to fitness or already loves training, they’ll build strength, speed, agility and coordination — all while having a blast.

With a mix of fun and fitness, these sessions help young people develop confidence, teamwork, and a love for staying active. It’s the perfect way to introduce them to the gym environment in a supportive and energising atmosphere.

A typical HYROX class includes a mix of functional movements such as rowing, sled pushes/pulls, burpees, wall balls, lunges, and running. Each session is structured to build strength, endurance, and power.

Do I need to be a runner to join HYROX classes?
Not at all! While HYROX events include running, our classes are designed to improve both strength and cardiovascular fitness. If you’re not a runner, our coaches will help you build confidence and endurance over time.

Do I need to book in advance?

Junior Gym is for young people, aged 12-15 years, who want to engage in regular physical activity and develop a fitness routine in a supervised and supportive environment.

FAQs

What should I bring?

Our workouts use a mixture of equipment which will be provided for you during the class. You may want to bring a water bottle (which you can fill up for free around our venues) and a towel in case things get sweaty.

What should I wear?

Stay comfortable in lightweight, breathable clothing that’s easy to move in like leggings or joggers and a loose t-shirt. Make sure to also wear a pair of trainers with good grip.

How can I find a class near me?

Junior gym sessions are available at Carnegie, Dalgety Bay, Kirkcaldy and Michael Woods. Bookings for all our fitness classes can be made via our website. Check out your local venues to find out more!
