Dunfermline’s Tryst Centre relocates to Carnegie Leisure Centre

We’ve teamed up with Fife Council so that local services delivered at the Tryst Centre in Abbeyview continue while redevelopment work gets underway.

The Tryst Centre is host to a wide range of services which deliver community learning and support, and thanks to partnership working, we and the council have set up a dedicated room, equipped with IT and meeting facilities, in a fitness studio in Carnegie Leisure Centre.

The move means that users such as the Job Club, Adult Basic Education and Fife College outreach classes can continue from their new home.

James Dunbar, area leisure manager for Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, said: “We were very happy to support this project as the Tryst Centre delivers valuable services for the local community. As a charitable trust, we are committed to making a difference to the communities of Fife and community sports and leisure facilities are very much about widening access to all learning and meeting local needs.

“We hope that this new resource will be attractive to other community groups and would encourage anyone interested in booking space for the ICT Hub to contact the team at Fife Council or Carnegie Leisure Centre.”

Shirley Melville, Fife Council’s team manager, community development, said: “To continue providing a range of community-based learning classes, Adult Basic Education and support for English for speakers of other languages for our communities in Dunfermline is excellent news. The re-location of this programme to a dedicated area within Carnegie Leisure Centre is welcome and will also introduce our clients to other services and opportunities provided by Fife Sports and Leisure Trust.”
