A range of low-cost and value-for-money holiday activities for children are being lined up at local leisure centres across Fife.

Parents and carers are being encouraged to book now to secure places.

Fife Sports and Leisure Trust is rolling out an extensive programme of activities for the October break.

Activities Manager Lee Cunningham said: “Our school holiday programmes are always incredibly popular and offer a fantastic mix of fun, activity and learning. From our affordable Quid-a-Kid sessions to action-packed camps, there’s something for every age and interest.

“We encourage families to book early to avoid disappointment and make the most of the October holidays.”

The Quid-a-Kid initiative allows children aged 17 and under to enjoy football, swimming or racquet sports for just £1 a session during school holidays. Adults can also accompany children playing football or racquet sports for £2 per person during these periods.

There are also more activity “camps” at local centres – varying from a few hours to several days – to keep youngsters entertained and active. Costs vary depending on the activity, venue and duration.

The holiday activities programme includes:

• Active Kidz Camps
• Swimming Camps
• Basketball Camps
• Football Camps (including a link-up with Raith Rovers)
• Gymnastics Camps and
• K-Pop Dance Camps

There’s also some fun for pre-school children.

Dalgety Bay Leisure Centre is hosting a “Stay and Play” morning session on October 22nd. It offers children under five (and their parents/carers) the chance to try football and gymnastics. The ticket cost is £2 which provides access for one child and one adult.
