Fife Sports and Leisure Trust Joins National Seriously Social Campaign to Celebrate Community Impact
Fife Sports and Leisure Trust is proud to be taking part in Seriously Social for the third consecutive year, reaffirming its commitment to putting people above profit and showcasing the positive impact community leisure has on health, wellbeing and local communities across Fife.
Running from Monday 8th June to Saturday 13th June, the national campaign, coordinated by Community Leisure UK, celebrates the vital role charities, social enterprises and community organisations play in creating social value and supporting communities across the UK.
Creating Social Value Across Fife
Guided by its mission to deliver diverse and inclusive opportunities so that everyone in Fife can become and stay active, Fife Sports and Leisure Trust provide accessible opportunities for people across the Kingdom to improve their health, wellbeing and quality of life.
Through its venues, programmes and partnerships, the organisation helps create healthier, happier and more connected communities, supporting people of all ages and abilities to participate, belong and thrive.
Accessible community leisure plays an important role in tackling health inequalities, reducing social isolation and helping people lead healthier, happier lives. It creates spaces where communities can come together, friendships can flourish and individuals can access support, regardless of age, ability, background or circumstance.
Emma Walker, Chief Executive of Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, said: “Community leisure is about so much more than sport and physical activity. Every day, we see the positive impact accessible leisure services can have on people’s lives, whether that’s improving health and wellbeing, building confidence, creating social connections or helping individuals overcome barriers to participation. As a charitable trust, we exist for the benefit of our communities. We are proud to reinvest in services and opportunities that support people across Fife and contribute to the wider social good. Seriously Social provides a fantastic opportunity to celebrate that impact and shine a light on the value community leisure brings to society.”
Jeph Hamilton, Chair of the Board of Directors at Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, added: “At Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, people will always come first. Everything we do is driven by a commitment to creating healthier, happier and more connected communities. The Seriously Social campaign highlights the importance of organisations that place social purpose at the heart of their work. We are proud to be part of a sector that delivers meaningful social value, supports local communities and creates opportunities for everyone to thrive.”
