Fife Sports and Leisure Trust Launches Summer of Sport 2026 Programme

Fife Sports and Leisure Trust is part of Summer of Sport 2026, a national initiative supported by the Scottish Government and sportscotland, creating more opportunities for children and young people aged 3-26 to get active and experience the benefits of sport and physical activity.

Working alongside Fife Council and local partners, Fife Sports and Leisure Trust will deliver a wide range of affordable and inclusive activities throughout the summer, helping more families access opportunities to be active, try new sports, and build confidence through physical activity.

As part of the programme, children and young people across Fife will be able to benefit from a range of affordable opportunities throughout the summer. Thanks to Summer of Sport funding, the cost of Fife Sports and Leisure Trust’s Summer Holiday Coaching Camps has been reduced by 50%, helping more families access activities including football, gymnastics, athletics, basketball, swimming, racquet sports, dance, and Active Kidz camps. Activities, venues and availability may vary and are subject to programme capacity.

Families will also be able to attend two Summer of Sport Family Fun Days for just £5 per group. Taking place at Duloch Leisure Centre on Saturday 18th July and Michael Woods Sports and Leisure Centre on Wednesday 5th August, the events offer a full programme of activities including swimming, gymnastics, football, dance, athletics, racquet sports, multi-sports, and inflatable fun. Activities are subject to venue, operational requirements, and capacity.

In addition, Summer of Sport funding will support an extended Quid-a-Kid programme, creating even more opportunities for children and young people to enjoy affordable activities throughout the school holidays.

Lee Cunningham, Activities Manager at Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, said: “Summer of Sport 2026 is a fantastic opportunity to help more children and young people across Fife experience the benefits of being active.

Through this investment, we have been able to reduce the cost of our holiday coaching camps, provide affordable family events and create more opportunities for children and young people to get involved in sport and physical activity throughout the summer.

We are delighted to be working alongside the Scottish Government, sportscotland, Fife Council and local partners to deliver a programme that will benefit families now while helping to create lasting pathways into sport and physical activity for the future.”
