Fresh Look and New Sports Floor for Dalgety Bay Sports Hall

Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, in partnership with Fife Council, is pleased to announce the completion of recent improvement works at Dalgety Bay Sports and Leisure Centre, including the installation of a brand-new sports floor in the sports hall.

The project took place from 22nd September to 31st October, delivered by Sports Surfaces UK. Alongside the new floor installation, the hall has benefited from upgraded ventilation and heating systems, enhanced lighting levels, and a full redecoration of the walls and surrounding areas. Mini basketball hoops have also been added to support cross-court play as part of ongoing investment in the facility.

The new sports hall floor has been line-marked for pickleball and a range of other sports, reflecting Fife Sports and Leisure Trust’s commitment to supporting both traditional and emerging activities and providing more opportunities for local people to get active.

The organisation has been working proactively with Dunfermline and Carnegie Cricket Club and Cricket Scotland to enhance indoor winter training opportunities, supported by the installation of new cricket nets. Looking ahead, the team is excited to expand the centre’s junior coaching programme, with new Run, Jump, Throw athletics sessions and more activities launching soon.

Jimmy Dunbar, Area Leisure Manager at Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, said: “We’re delighted to see the transformation of the sports hall at Dalgety Bay Sports and Leisure Centre. The new Pulastic floor and wider facility upgrades have made a real difference to the space, ensuring it continues to meet the needs of our community and provide the best possible environment for sport and activity. By working closely with partners such as Fife Council, we’re supporting participation across a broad range of sports and creating more opportunities for people of all ages to get involved.”

Councillor Linda Erskine, Fife Council Spokesperson for Communities & Leisure Services, added: “This investment demonstrates Fife Council’s ongoing commitment to improving local facilities and promoting active lifestyles. The new floor, improved infrastructure, and multi-sport markings show how Fife Sports and Leisure Trust venues are evolving to meet community needs and encourage participation in both established and growing sports such as cricket and pickleball.”

This project has been made possible through funding from Fife Council, underlining their dedication to the Physical Activity and Sports Strategy 2022–25 and its aim to invest in facilities and opportunities for physical activity and sport across Fife.

As part of Fife Sports and Leisure Trust’s ongoing commitment to creating inviting, inclusive, and inspiring fitness spaces, further improvements are also planned for the gym, which will feature refreshed equipment and an updated look. These updates reinforce the organisation’s dedication to supporting the health, fitness, and wellbeing of communities across Fife.
