Here are some of the ways we make difference to people in the local community of Levenmouth ...

Forever Young

Rhiannon Grant

Active Schools Young Ambassador

Leading Levenmouth Academy extra-curricular netball session for S1-S3 pupils.

Being in this venue allows the whole cluster and locality to be brought together. Delivering activities to a wide range of young people from different areas within the locality enables young people to develop physical, social, and emotional wellbeing as well as the leadership skills to set them up for reaching positive destinations.

Enigma Gymnastics Club

Gymnastics, PE Annex, Levenmouth Academy

Based in an area of regeneration, we understand the importance of providing gymnastics and other physical activity-based opportunities to support the physical, mental and social health of those who live or work within the area.  Offering opportunities for the local community to participate in our activities (either as a participant or volunteer) helps us improve the lives and wellbeing of our local community.

Leven Centre

Wellness programme - Global Caravan Dance

Oh, how we chuckled together.  The minute we put our coin belts on there was no stopping the FUN. We laughed and wiggled and wiggled and laughed. The ladies did such an amazing job following the moves and isolating their bodies not taking themselves too seriously.

I loved being involved in something that brings so much joy and happiness.

Rosalynd Ramsay

Levenmouth Swimming Pool & Sports Centre

I'm currently 17 weeks pregnant. I want to retain my fitness during pregnancy and be a great example to my little boy. Once this little one is born (due in July) I look forward to getting back to fitness in a safe welcoming environment.

Having access to a variety of classes and pool facilities will help me maintain good mental health as well as improve my physical fitness, while also being a good role model for my children.

Michele Sinclair

My wee mum is 72! She had been terrified to go out during the lockdowns, so we did their shopping etc! My dad (80) kept quite active as they have 3 dogs, but mum was terrified even to touch the door handles! She was convinced she had a heart condition but went for tests and nothing was wrong at all - Which is good! The doctors came to the conclusion she was a little overweight and unfit.

I suggested we went to a Senior Flex class at Michael Woods Sports & Leisure Centre; then we added another class at Leven pool! And she comes to my Yoga on a Thursday at Levenmouth Swimming Pool & Sports Centre and is now going to chair pilates too!

Two months later, she's taken out a membership and feels great! She's smiling and no longer thinking she's going to die any day soon!

Fife Active schools and Levenmouth Academy Community Use delivered an activity camp for local young people during the February mid-term break.  This was delivered by a combination of Active School Ambassadors/young leaders and local clubs.  ,

Our short animation shares feedback from participants:

  • What they enjoyed most about the activity camp.

  • What sports they would like to see in their primary schools.

  • What sports they would like to see at the next camp.
