Locals book to get active ahead of doors re-opening for charitable trust
We are reporting that locals are gearing up to secure their opportunity to visit local leisure centres and get active.
We saw over 1,000 bookings in the first 48 hours of re-launching our online booking system ahead of doors opening on Monday, April 26 on our facilities across Fife.
Unlike the first lockdown, which saw us operate a phased re-opening programme, we will open doors on facilities on the same date. Work is progressing to address issues related to COVID health and safety measures at the Beacon Leisure Centre and the trust will update customers with an opening date.
Since we made our online booking system available via our website and app on Sunday, April 18, 578 gym sessions have been booked, 531 swim sessions and 30 family swim sessions.
Emma Walker, chief executive for Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, said: “Our staff and facilities are ready and we are very much looking forward to welcoming customers back to their local leisure centres. We’re sure that customers will be confident in the protocols we have in place which are in line with government, NHS Scotland and industry guidelines.
“Thanks to the hard work of staff, and previous experience of delivering Covid-secure facilities and programmes, I’m sure customers will experience the highest health and safety standards while enjoying the health and wellbeing benefits of physical activity.”
