Leisure centre unveils new-look sports hall

We are welcoming customers back to a new-look facility following significant investment to our  Newport-on-Tay leisure centre.

Working in partnership with Fife Council, we have opened doors to Waterstone Crook Sports Centre to unveil new flooring in the facility’s sports hall.

Allan Reid, area leisure manager for Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, said: “Thanks to investment by  Fife Council, we are really pleased to be welcoming back customers to the centre – we think they will be delighted with the newly re-laid floor and will benefit from the improved quality of the hall’s playing surface.

“Waterstone Crook is an important resource for the local community and we have a long relationship with a number of clubs in the area that use the hall on a regular basis – we’d like to say thank you for their patience during the refurbishment works.”

Cllr Judy Hamilton, Convener of Fife Council’s Community & Housing Services Committee, added: “It’s good to see the work completed and staff welcoming customer, both old and new, into the sports hall. Taking the opportunity to replace the entire playing surface, instead of just fixing the repair, may have taken longer to deliver but it’s certainly a worthwhile investment in this local facility.”
