Summer of Sport Family Fun Heads to Michael Woods Sports and Leisure Centre

Following a successful start to Fife Sports and Leisure Trust’s Summer of Sport programme, families are being invited to enjoy day of fun and sport activities at Michael Woods Sports and Leisure Centre on Wednesday 5th August from 10am–2pm. Thanks to Summer of Sport 2026 funding, groups of up to six people can enjoy a packed programme of activities for just £5, including family swimming, inflatable fun, gymnastics, football, bubble football, athletics, racquet sports, dance and more.

The event forms part of Summer of Sport 2026, a national initiative supported by the Scottish Government and sportscotland, creating more opportunities for children and young people aged 3–26 to get active, experience new activities and enjoy the benefits of sport and physical activity.

The event will offer an opportunity for families to come together, try something new and enjoy a wide range of activities in a fun and welcoming environment.

Lee Cunningham, Activities Manager at Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming families to Michael Woods Sports and Leisure Centre for a fantastic day of fun.

Summer of Sport is helping us create more opportunities for children and young people to be active, build confidence and discover activities they enjoy. We hope this event encourages families to come along, get involved, and enjoy being active together.”

Grant Stevenson, Area Leisure Manager at Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, added: “We’re excited to welcome families from across Fife to Michael Woods Sports and Leisure Centre for a day packed with activities and opportunities to get active.

Whether you’re visiting the venue for the first time or are a regular customer, we hope families leave having made lasting memories and discovered activities they can continue to enjoy throughout the year.”

The £5 group ticket provides access to activities taking place throughout the day, allowing visitors to stay for the full event or drop in for their favourite sessions.

Advance booking is recommended, although tickets will also be available on the day, subject to capacity.

The Family Fun Day is one of many activities taking place as part of Summer of Sport 2026, alongside reduced-cost coaching camps, extended Quid-a-Kid activities and opportunities inspired by the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
