Patrick has lived in Fife for nearly twenty five years and has served on Fife Council since May 2022. He has served as a councillor on three local authorities. He has been heavily involved in public policy and public affairs during his career having previously established the Scottish Retail Consortium in advance of the Scottish Parliament’s re-establishment in 1999 and having run the Scottish Beer and Pub Association for nearly ten years. Currently he works in a policy role for a UK government public body.

A large part of his time is spent taking his West Highland terrier on extended walks around his ward keeping in touch with local issues. His interested include the role that sport and fitness can play in addressing the challenges on public health and how Fife Sports and Leisure Trust can better work with partners to improve this and educational attainment.
