In partnership with Fife Council and Network Rail, Fife Sports and Leisure Trust has announced the temporary closure of Levenmouth Swimming Pool and Sports Centre’s car park. The closure will be in effect from the 23rd of October 2023 to Spring 2024 to accommodate the construction of the new Leven Station as part of the transformative Levenmouth Rail Link project.

Funded by the Scottish Government, the Levenmouth Rail Link project will connect Leven to the mainline rail network. This ambitious initiative includes building 19 kilometres of single track and establishing two new electrified railway stations.

The highly anticipated Leven Station, situated near Levenmouth Swimming Pool and Sports Centre, will seamlessly integrate with connecting bus services and existing active travel routes. As part of this plan, a new car park will be developed to serve both the rail station and the leisure centre. For this reason, the existing car park needs to be temporarily closed to facilitate the timely completion of this new car park.

The new car park will bring a range of benefits for visitors and the community. It will feature an increased number of spaces and accessible parking spaces for Fife Sports and Leisure Trust customers. Additionally, the car park will be equipped with electric charging points, promoting sustainable transportation options.

During the car park closure, the centre encourages members to explore alternative nearby parking options. Free parking is available along the Promenade, within 200 meters of Levenmouth Swimming Pool and Sports Centre. Fife Sports and Leisure Trust is dedicated to ensuring accessibility for all customers. As part of this commitment, there will be a drop-off and bus parking area, as well as designated parking bays for individuals with disabilities.
