West Fife’s gym-goers treated to industry’s best

We’re pleased to announce three revamped gyms have been delivered by us for the West Fife community with locals set to benefit from a wider range of state-of-the-art gym equipment and specially-designed workout spaces.

As part of our £1.1 million investment to refit 11 of our gyms across the region, Carnegie Leisure CentreDuloch Leisure Centre, and most recently, Pitreavie Sports Centre, are welcoming customers to new-look gyms. Now, people in the Dunfermline area have a wider range of high-quality facilities and a host of affordable opportunities to get active.

The £400,000 gym investment programme for the area has delivered enhanced layout and training zones, industry-leading gym equipment with wider choice to reflect exercise trends and latest research on effective exercise methods.

As a charitable trust, we have achieved consistent growth in attendances since our launch in 2008, and, we see investing in the best equipment as key to delivering on our commitment to improving customer experience.

Gym manager for Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, Stuart Bizzarri, explains the strategy behind the layout and choice of equipment in the three Dunfermline gyms, he said: “The gym refurbishment programme has delivered a fantastic choice for local customers – across the three sites we have 200 workout stations offering a wide range of exercise options including HIIT, resistance, interval, and strength, with additional facilities of athletics track at Pitreavie and swimming pools and climbing wall at Carnegie. We have received really positive feedback from users and staff are delighted at the response.”

James Dunbar, area leisure manager for Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, said: “The quality and choice available to the local community is fantastic and we are very proud to not only have the best equipment on offer, but also qualified leisure staff to help gym-goers get the best out of their workout.

“As a charitable trust, we are grateful to those who choose to use our centres – it means we can invest back into our facilities and ultimately provide affordable access to the health and wellbeing benefits of physical activity for local communities.”
