Cowdenbeath Leisure Centre to Undergo Transformational Refurbishment in Spring 2024

We want to keep you informed about important updates regarding Cowdenbeath Leisure Centre. So, what exactly can you expect from this ambitious project? Let's delve into the details.

Refurbishment Project
As part of our ongoing commitment to providing you with the best possible facilities and services, we are partnering with Fife Council and Fife Cultural Trust to refurbish Cowdenbeath Leisure Centre. The leisure centre will close from Monday 15th of April 2024, and remain closed for approximately 14 months due to renovations. During this period, the centre will not be accessible to customers. However, we have made arrangements to relocate activities and ensure that our customers and members can still enjoy our services.

Library Relocation
One of the most significant changes will involve relocating the local library. The current library on the High Street will find its new home within the leisure centre. The library will be accessible to customers beyond regular opening hours, making it even more convenient for residents to visit and enjoy.

Revamped Gym Facilities
Fitness enthusiasts will be delighted to know that the gym facilities at Cowdenbeath Leisure Centre are set to receive a makeover. The gym space will be enhanced, and dedicated fitness and aerobic studios will be added. Whether you're into lifting weights, spinning, or attending a fitness class, these upgraded facilities will cater to a wide range of fitness needs, ensuring that there's something for everyone.

Pool Facilities
Our pool facilities are undergoing refurbishment to provide you with a more pleasant and comfortable experience during your visit to our leisure centre. The changing areas will be upgraded, ensuring a relaxing and convenient experience before and after your swim.

Health Suite
Additionally, we are investing in our health suite to provide you with an even more rejuvenating experience. We are replacing the sauna and steam room so you can unwind and recharge. We aim to create an environment that promotes health and wellbeing.

Outdoor Facilities
The project doesn't stop at the indoor facilities. The Synthetic Turf Pitch will be replaced and repurposed, providing a state-of-the-art outdoor space for various activities. This will not only enhance the look of the centre but also expand the range of recreational opportunities available to the community.

Temporary Relocation of Programme
Starting Monday the 15th of April 2024, our programme will be relocated to nearby venues. Please note that there may be some changes to the timetabling during this period.
