Get Kids Active with Fife Sports and Leisure Trust's Summer Holiday Programme

The region’s leading provider of sport and leisure services is encouraging young people in Fife to be active this summer by offering a variety of free or reduced-cost activities, including swimming lessons, fun pool sessions, football, racquet sports, giant inflatables, Kidz Camps and more.

Thanks to funding from its partner Fife Council, Fife Sports and Leisure Trust will host family-friendly activities from Saturday, 1st July until Tuesday, 15th August 2023. This includes initiatives such as Monday to Friday ‘Splash for Nowt’ from 9am to 1pm and ‘Quid a Kid’ Swimming from 1pm to 5pm. There is also ‘Quid a Kid’ football and racket sports sessions Monday to Sunday from 9am to 5pm, where children aged 17 and under can take part for £1. Adults can join the fun and play ‘Quid a Kid’ football and racquet sports for £2.

The Trust will also hold Big Inflatable Takeovers, Bouncy Castle Drop-in sessions and Active Kidz Camps at select venues to help children and young people make friends, keep active and have fun throughout the summer holidays.

Emma Walker, Chief Executive for Fife Sports and Leisure Trust,  said: "Engaging young people in physical activities from an early age and nurturing a lifelong commitment to staying active is at the heart of the Trust’s mission. Our summer holiday programme aims to inspire families in the region to enjoy an unforgettable season and embrace the rewards of an active lifestyle.

“There is a diverse range of activities on offer, including condensed swimming lessons for accelerated learning. Our programme offers fantastic opportunities for families to actively participate and create lasting memories in a summer filled with fun and active experiences. Join us and make the most of this amazing season!

Linda Erskine, Spokesperson for Community and Leisure, said: “As a Council, we’re committed to supporting the health and wellbeing of our communities and we want to help anyone, who is able, to get out and enjoy what’s on our doorstep. That's why we continue to fund programmes, like this, which offer free or reduced-cost activities over the summer, to help keep children, young people and families active through the summer, without having to worry about affordability.

"We will be re-launching our GoFife summer activity programme shortly, in partnership with the community trusts - Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, OnFife, Fife Coast and Countryside Trust and the Golf Trust.

"The Go Fife website has proven to be very popular with families and individuals in the past, as it brings together a wealth of inspiration for fun, free and reduced-cost activities in Fife. Along with this offer from Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, there's something for everyone this summer."
