This is a helpful guide to getting you back to the water safely, brought to you in partnership with Scottish Swimming. |
We will put the restriction on all facilities and Learn to Swim programmes from 26th December 2020. The measure will be in place until Scottish Government advice states that it is appropriate for sports and leisure facilities to resume.
As a Learn to Swim customer, we understand how frustrating this is and want to reassure you that all payments will be automatically suspended until further notice. You do not need to do anything, and no payments will be taken from your account during this period.
We will be in touch to let you know when our Learn to Swim programme will re-commence and when your membership will be activated.
Emma Walker, chief executive for Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, said: “We are acting in line with the Scottish Government’s COVID local protection measures, and, following the confirmation that Fife is now in Level 4, we will no longer be able to offer our facilities and programmes – this measure applies to both adults and juniors.
“The health and safety of our customers and staff is our number one priority, and we understand that customers, who have been enjoying access to our facilities and programmes since we re-opened our facilities across the region, will be disappointed. However, as we have extremely good health and safety and social distancing measures in place, we are in a good position to resume our facilities and programmes as quickly as possible when permitted.”
Due to social distancing and capacity restrictions within our centres, our programme cannot return to full capacity at this time. Therefore, a phased approach will be taken in all centres, and we aim to have our programme return to full capacity, by January 2021 at the latest.
You will find details of any timetabling changes that have been made in your return to the water.

This programme is designed to introduce you and your child to the water in a fun way making it exciting and enjoyable for you both. It will provide you as a parent with confidence and skills to help teach your child to swim.
The programme provides a fun, progressive and all-inclusive pathway for children to participate in any aquatic discipline to whatever level they aspire to.
Did you miss out on learning to swim as a child, or never really got the opportunity to swim when you were younger? It’s never too late to learn!
Adult Programme >
We are proud to be working in partnership with Scottish Swimming.
Swimming provides the opportunity to learn a life skill whilst interacting and having fun in a group environment. This should be no different for a child with a disability and where possible your child will be included in a class with their peers.
What should you expect from our swimming lesson programme?
All children should be having fun! They should be involved in games-based activities to help them learn skills such as breathing, submerging and moving in the water. Swimming strokes will be introduced gradually once a child has learned the core aquatic skills.
Ask your local leisure centre Aquatics Advisor about swimming lessons for your child. Click here for contact telephone numbers.
Before they start school, start swimming.
